Plumbing Resolutions for 2022: Resolution #1

It’s a new year (can you believe it? 2022! What’s next – 2023!?) and we thought this would be a great time to share four plumbing resolutions we’d love for you to make. Over the month of January, we will be posting a few of the things on our homeowner plumbing wish list. Let’s get started!

This year, resolve not to ignore the little problems.

Sometimes, your toilet runs (you just take off the lid and give it a jiggle and it’s fine, right?).

Occasionally, you see water pooling around your washing machine (the floor drain is right there, so it doesn’t matter, yes?).

And yes, on occasion, you do have to get out of bed to deal with a dripping faucet that is keeping you awake with it’s plink-plinking (you put a dishcloth on the bottom of the sink, and it makes the noise stop, so problem solved!).

All of these seemingly little problems might seem like no big deal. That is, until they are. When they become a big deal, they also become an expensive deal. As much as this is our business, we’d prefer if you avoided emergencies as much as possible.

That’s why we suggest that you resolve to address small plumbing problems thoroughly, and while they are small. Those little, annoying leaks can mean over a hundred litres of lost water per day. Besides the water waste, which costs money and can cause expensive damages, plumbing problems can be indicators of larger issues brewing, or can become bigger issues if they are ignored.

Make 2022 the year that you take your small plumbing problems seriously and enjoy the savings (in your wallet and your sanity!) that come with preventing major plumbing problems and damage. This might mean you call us more often, but you won’t be quite as frantic when you do!

Check back next week for the second in our Plumbing Resolutions series!
