Remodeling your Bathroom? Upgrade your Plumbing Too!

Implementing a bathroom remodel can be a great way to rejuvenate the love of your home. Whether it’s something simple like a new soaker tub, or a bit more extravagant, like in floor heating – these updates can make your bathroom feel brand new again! But what about the finer details? Here are some great upgrades to make to your plumbing while you are doing your bathroom remodel.

Faucets and shower heads

A rain shower head, for instance, is the perfect way to turn your quick morning shower routine into a spa treatment. It doesn’t have to cost a lot but upgrading your shower head and faucets can completely change the look and feel of your bathroom.

Install a bidet

While many people consider bidets to be a luxury, we discovered during the Great Toilet Paper Shortage of 2020 that it can also be a necessity. Installing a bidet onto your toilet can be a simple way to help the environment and class up your bathroom.

New plumbing lines

If you are making changes to the aesthetics and use of your bathroom, consider the underlying infrastructure that requires supporting these usages. If you are adding new features or changing the location of elements of your bathroom, talk to a plumber to see if your plumbing lines will support these upgrades.

Two Inch Drain

While you are making these adjustments to your bathroom, consider upgrading your drains as well by moving from a 1.5 inch (or even 1.25 inch in some cases) drain to a 2-inch diameter drain. If you have a lot of traffic in your washroom in the morning, you’ll notice a big difference with an expanded drain circumference.

Making your bathroom more beautiful is exciting. But updating the plumbing at the same time will save you future headaches, and increase your enjoyment of your new space!
